This passage is hard, but it sort of follows on from before. It tells us that God’s love should change us and push us to be people who try to live the way God would want.
It is a dreadful thing to give up our relationship with God for small temporary things on Earth. Like Esau in the Old Testament who traded his birth right for a meal. Think about the small things you sometimes put in front of God, God forgives you and can help you to change.
But it also excitedly tells us that if we listen to God. We will be part of His new creation: the coming Kingdom, beyond this world. A new Heaven and Earth, which will be unshakeable, completely permanent and without fault. I know that’s a place I want to be! Be praying that God will continue to focus us on him and on this exciting future we can look forward to if we believe and trust in him!
